Calling all youth workers, social workers, educators, healthcare professionals, family support workers, counsellors, and anyone else who works with children, young people, parents and carers in Guernsey and Alderney: Do you know when to refer a child or young person to the Children’s Convenor? Do you know what the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal does and why it is unique to the Bailiwick?
The Children’s Tribunal System, in partnership with the Island Safeguarding Children Partnership, is holding helpful training on the role of the Children's Convenor and CYCT. The half-day course will provide real insight into the system and how we help protect children from harm and promote their health, welfare and development. It will help attendees to be better equipped when deciding whether or not to refer a child to the Children's Convenor, as well as how to explain to children and families involved in CYCT proceedings what is happening and what to expect.
The in-person training course will held at the Institute from 9:15am to 12:15pm on the following dates:
- 20 May
- 27 July
- 6 September
- 8 November
If you work for HSC and/or Education and have access, please book via My Learning, if not please email [email protected] to be allocated a space.
